ABOUT KSM and the KERR STREET CLASSIC

Golf is an incredible sport that requires practice, patience and a strong mental toughness to score. A beautiful analogy of life, it has been cited that you can tell a lot about a person's grip on life by their grip on their club.

No matter what your handicap or skill level, whether you are a seasoned professional or a weekend duffer, you will find yourself "lost in the rough" at some point. For some, living and playing "in the rough" is all they will ever know, with little hope of stepping onto the fairways of life.

Thank you for your interest in the Kerr Street Classic. As you consider taking part, take a moment to think about the struggling and marginalized who live "in the rough", hidden in the dark recesses of our town. While it may not be as obvious as in other cities, Oakville has a growing population of poor, underpriviledged and needy adults, children and families. People struggling just to get by... and that concerns us!

In 1995, a group of concerned Oakville citizens founded Kerr Street Community Services. What began as a simple food co-operative was expanded significantly in the spring of 2010 when the Mission Centre was built. This 19,000 square foot facility now houses a growing number of programs and services to help our most needy neighbours.

We are privileged to provide modest support to this growing populous through...

  • Food Bank and Community Meals

  • Family Support Services

  • After-School Programming

  • Children and Youth Programs

  • Kid's Day Camp

  • Summer Camp

...and much more

Kerr Street Mission is committed to providing HELP for the present and HOPE for the future for all those living in need in Oakville.

KSM's mission is to help the community of Oakville CARE for low-income and at-risk families and youth.
